The Culture of Vermi and Composting. (Part 1)

The Culture of Vermi and Composting. (Part 1)

What if I told you that through proper utilization of natural decay and a few handfuls of worms you can save on average of 700 pounds of waste per year and also through proper enterprising you could make good money off of those worms.
Would you call me crazy if I told you that ?
I am only using the most basic method as to negate expense and while not compromising effectiveness this is a tutorial designed to be the most basic and stripped down approach.
For starters composting is not at all hard to do pick a well shaded area .
Mushrooms are a good sign of natural decay as well my preferred method is using leaves and grass clippings mixing liberally with any animal waste I can obtain I prefer goat, chicken,or pig most often also I use FAA/ Fish Emulsion (Fish Amino Acids) which I will cover in the very near future as resources to make FAA are not available at this time sorry for that guys.
So now that we have our clippings, leaves etc etc and you have found your area it is usually best to mix the waste and clippings well then liberally apply IMO (indigenous micro organisms) to deter the smell and to also catalyze decay.
As stated earlier majority of micro organisms in soil or decaying matter are neutral and will follow the prevailing number of bad or good micro organisms.
Remember to apply 2 tsp to every liter of water for the IMO refer to the IMO demonstration post I made a few weeks ago.
Decaying matter For usage with Vermiculture/Vermicomposting .
1. Anaerobic stage
Chop your materials into small pieces to make for better decomposition use a knife or bolo or shredder whatever you have.
Moisten the materials add to your composting bin and cover to initiate anaerobic decomposition leave for 10 -15 days then material should be ready for worm consumption .
2. Aerobic Stage
Now that we have done the Anaerobic stage introduce your worms to the material note that aerobic decomposition lasts for 40-60 days.
I will dive more in depth into vermiculture and it's benefits and what is involved in the next tutorial which I will post tomorrow until the ask any questions you want or add to this I am always up for learning take care guys and be good to one another.
